BSc (Hons) Information Technology

The BSc. in Information Technology (Hons) Degree (IT) programme will be delivered by the Faculty of Computing and Technology, of Saegis Campus. This degree program intends to provide opportunities to Sri Lankan and foreign students to obtain the relevant qualification in line with Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) to produce qualified IT professionals to meet the development of the country and the global needs. The Information Technology degree course provides students with the contemporary knowledge, skills and experience required for a successful career as an IT professional capable of managing information technology, digital proficiency and technological transformations in all relevant sectors. Total duration for the degree program will be 08 (eight) semesters including 57 course units in total 125 credits and a Information Technology degree equivalent SLQF level 6 will be awarded at successful completion of all the requirements.

Entry Requirements

a) Passes in three (03) subjects (in Physical Science Stream or any three subjects with Mathematics and Physics) at the GCE A/L Examination (Sri Lanka or London) in one and the same sitting but not exceeding three sittings.

b) Passes in three (03) subjects (in any subject stream) at the GCE A/L Examination (Sri Lanka or London) in one and the same sitting but not exceeding three sittings and passing of the Bridging Programme for Computing Discipline stated under the Non-State Higher Education Circular No. 02/2019 issued by the Ministry of Higher Education (according to the passing criteria stated in the same) AND c) Minimum of 30% for the Common General Test in any of the settings indicated in a) or b) above.
