Saegis Sports Week is a week-long event designed to encourage teamwork , physical fitness, and fun via sports activities in indoor and outdoor games as well. Friendly competitions between students from various faculties foster camaraderie and excitement on campus. It promotes an active and healthy lifestyle and strengthens links among the campus community by encouraging student involvement in a range of sports and leisure pursuits and fostering a lively and enjoyable environment.
The Sports Week organized by sports club commenced on the 30th of June 2025 with a grand opening ceremony and ended in a climax with the Saegis Premier League Cricket Tournament on the 12th of July 2025. Vice Chancellor , Major General Milinda Pieris stood as the mentor with the overall supervision and guidance of Mr. Edward Costa ( Assistant Registrar- Student Affairs ) , Dr. Esmond de Silva ( Registrar ), Mr. Navod KOtugoda ( Dean of IT faculty)
Mr. Abilaas Rengnathan ( Lecturer ), Mr.Themira Avishanka ( Lecturer ) and Mr. Janidu Priyashan Fernando ( Lecturer) while the organizing committees of each sport shared their responsibilities in all earnest.
